All case studies
Background

Vaxxas is at the forefront of transforming vaccination through its High-Density Microarray Patch (HD-MAP) technology, which offers a simple, patient-friendly alternative to traditional needle-based vaccination.

By delivering vaccines directly into the skin via thousands of microprojections, the HD-MAP technology is designed to stimulate a faster and potentially stronger immune response at a fraction of the dose typically required for intramuscular injections.

The funding advance from Endpoints Capital, allows Vaxxas to leverage Australia’s RDTI program to accelerate critical R&D activities required to expand the company’s vaccine pipeline targeting existing and emerging vector-borne diseases.

“This investment by Endpoints Capital is a significant endorsement of Vaxxas’ technology and our mission to transform global health through innovative vaccine delivery,” Vaxxas Chief Financial Officer Doug Cubbin said. “Having access to funds now, allows us to keep progressing R&D activities without delay which is critical to businesses like Vaxxas advancing their technologies in a timely way.”

Engagement

In addition to providing biotech companies financing solutions at all stages of development, financial backing by institutions like Endpoints Capitals highlights the growing investor confidence in local biotech companies and the broader sector in Australia. The non-dilutive R&D cash advances provided by Endpoints Capital have multiple advantages including improved liquidity for progressing clinical research, reducing a biotech’s cost of capital and improving overall returns to shareholders. By deploying R&D financing effectively, emerging biotechs can strengthen their financial position and accelerate their ability to bring innovative therapies to market.

Chief Commercial Officer of Endpoints Capital Holly Stefl, expressed her enthusiasm for the recent collaboration with Vaxxas. “We are delighted to be supporting Vaxxas on their path to commercialising this technology that has great potential to make a difference to the way we receive vaccination in the future. Partnering with innovative biotech companies like Vaxxas to leverage the R&D refund process, can help to advance health outcomes for Australians and people worldwide.”

Vaxxas is moving closer to bringing its HD-MAP technology to market with the scale-up of manufacturing capabilities at its state-of-the-art biomedical facility in Brisbane.

Life Sciences Queensland’s new Acting CEO, Dr Ryan Parlett, welcomed the news of the collaboration between Vaxxas and Endpoints Capital. “The life sciences sector in Queensland is booming, and this kind of investment by Endpoints Capital is exactly what the ecosystem needs to allow companies to continue to grow, innovate and translate their research into solutions for the world.”

“We are very excited by the work being done by the Vaxxas team in Brisbane. Their needle-free vaccine technology has the potential to be a real game-changer for delivering life-saving vaccines.”

About Vaxxas

Vaxxas is developing a needle-free vaccine technology that enhances the performance of existing and next-generation vaccines.

Vaxxas’ high-density microarray patch (HD-MAP) technology has demonstrated promising results in a series of Phase I clinical studies, showing potential to significantly boost immune responses. Furthermore, its HD-MAP vaccines can be stable at elevated temperatures, reducing traditional logistical challenges associated with cold-chain distribution and potentially allowing for broader and faster vaccination, particularly in pandemic situations.

Vaxxas is targeting initial applications in infectious disease and oncology and has forged collaborations with leading global organisations in vaccine commercialisation including the United States Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Gates Foundation.
